Recently, the mass media continuously referred to buses running unsafely, carelessly, causing accidents....But from an objective view, operation of buses in the past four years has reached many respect – deserved results. (Hanoi Buses has been a one of the ten typical events of the Capital for the three consecutive year; bus civilization building is underway making a considerable contribution in reducing current traffic accidents …)

Apart from such achievements, buses currently face with many extremely big challenges, which are rising travel demand of people, higher requirement on service quality than previous time. Current infrastructure for buses is poor while the traffic is mixed flow so it is not possible to increase circulation speed and easy to occur collisions.  Additionally, people is requesting and expecting much from buses while Hanoi buses have just only four years of operation and also have many difficulties such as lack of vehicles, investment and renovation of vehicle still can not catch development of the bus sector yet; skill of both drivers and conductors is still not high yet; low consciousness of traffic users......and the most important thing is that people still really do not believe in buses to  give up their private vehicles …

Hanoi Transerco, the managing unit of Hanoi Buses is trying their best effort to provide the best quality service to passengers by always trying to strengthen vehicle safety, to change vehicles that are called by people as “mobile brick kiln”. Transerco has already been carrying out development of document named “Training for Safe Driving of Bus” to provide for bus drivers; and conduct many conferences to obtain contribution comments from the reality of direct labours so as to minimize traffic accidents caused by buses..
